Today you crossed your next milestone and I was very happy to see you crawl. Though it was not the actual crawling, you have started dragging yourself and moving forward. Your grandparents and aunts were asking me since last few days if you have started crawling. There was not even a sign of you trying and today from nowhere I see you pulling yourself forward! I video taped the awesome moment and called your dad to inform him the good news!
On the 4th of April, you kept calling me "amma" the entire day. I was really happy when you said "ammaaaa baaaaa" several times when I was in the kitchen. I couldn't stay in the kitchen when you called me so lovingly! When you were 7 months old, you were not letting me be in the kitchen. It was not just I had to stay in sight but also you wanted me to be within 2 feet distance all the time. Your pediatrician called it "Separation Anxiety".
You have another restriction when you go to sleep. This has been in practice from a long time. Every time when you are falling asleep, you keep your legs 90 degrees up in the air. As you doze off your legs touch the floor because there is something called gravity power. But this theory is against your wish. The minute your legs touch the ground, you partially wake up from sleep, cry and pull your legs up again. It happens several times before you totally fall asleep. If you keep doing it more than 5-6 times, either your dad or I keep our hands or legs or a pillow under your legs and once you are off to sleep, very slowly we take it off. Sometimes even then you pull your legs up again and we have follow the process all over once again.
On April 13th, you went to a temple for the first time after Anvi akka's birthday party. It looked like you enjoyed being there and you loved the temple bell. Your dad taught you to pull the rope and bell. You did it several times with a broad smile of achievement on your face. When people try to carry you, you easily go with men and if women try to carry you, you cry. You have learnt to play tricks. If I don't carry you, you either rub your eyes or put your fingers in mouth even when you are full and not sleepy.
You have so many toys at home, but you get fed up so fast. You play with them for 5 minutes each and then try to catch other things around. Things like a piece of card board, crumpled paper balls, a stripe of tulle cloth, empty peanut bottle, paper towel role, a spoon are the treasures you have in your department and you don't let me even touch a thing from that. You try to carry the biggest possible object you find - like vessels in the kitchen or a box. You even shout a lot these days.
On the 21st of April you went to Kroger with your dad alone. I was feeling too tired to come and we thought of trying this. I was thinking about you the entire time though I was at home. You sat all alone in the back seat of the car. When you both didn't come home after 1 and half hour, I was really worried and called your dad to find out if everything was fine. Your dad laughed at me for the way I was missing you and he said you were fast asleep and that was why you both were still in Kroger. He didn't want you to wake up in the car and cry when you don't see anybody!
